Welcome to Africa Upwards! This post is just a little introduction to what this space is going to be about. The ever-growing African community in London has done a lot to shed a brighter light on the negatively stereotyped African continent and its people and here is where you will learn about it. Focused on appreciating the talents withing the diaspora, Africa Upwards aims to inspire other people around the world, and from different backgrounds and cultures to do great and excel.
On Africa Upwards, you will find:
- Reviews of visits to African restaurants in London (and hopefully globally!)
- Step-by-step guides on how to create African and African-inspired dishes
- "Spotlight" - where talented African businessmen and women showcase their work. (e.g fashion, business and food)
- Arts : appreciating the uniqueness of African art, including films, exhibitions, music, books and poetry.
- Country focuses: similar to Spotlight, but focused on the great things a specific country has done or achieved as of late.
I hope that this space will engage readers from London and all around and create an inspiring community and spark meaningful discussions amongst you all!
I am constantly on the hunt for all things African in London and the UK, so if you are an individual or business that has something exciting to share or an upcoming event to promote, or even if you have a suggestion for this space, please please please feel free to email me at africaupwards@gmail.com!
I hope to grow this space and make it the best that it can be!
Happy Reading!
